beau|te|ous
ˈbyo͞odēəs late Middle English: from beauty, on the pattern of bounteous and plenteous
"I need you to be the graphic designer." These are the words I heard from my manager and mentor, the words that began my career in design. I began working with her just six months earlier as an advertising assistant. So there I was, on the fast track to the world of rulers, grids, and guides. I am always willing to learn and help out in any way possible, so I was thrilled. Then I fell in love with it all—with typography and ampersands, calligraphy and fonts, photography and light, negative space and texture, color and ink, logos and branding, letterpress and paper.
